Throughout history, from classical Roman styles to futurism, our societies have gone through a vast array of architectural styles, each with its own special and characteristic details.
At BC Estudio Group, over the course of nine generations, we have evolved by adopting various architectural styles that reflect our commitment to innovation and sustainability. Below, we highlight some of the most representative styles in our journey, along with concrete examples of projects we have developed in each of them.
Neoclassical: Architectural Styles: Elegance and Balance
In our early years, we distinguished ourselves through neoclassical-style projects, characterized by elegance and balance in their designs. This approach focuses on symmetry and the incorporation of classical elements that bring a timeless aesthetic to our constructions.
The residence of Lord Jacob Rothschild in Corfu, Greece, is a clear example of how classical architecture can be sensitively integrated into a privileged natural setting. Inspired by Mediterranean tradition, this project stands out for its balance and harmony, reflecting classical principles such as symmetry in the arrangement of spaces and the careful proportion of its volumes.

The use of local stone in the walls pays homage to ancient Greek constructions, ensuring both beauty and functionality. The pergolas and support structures evoke the essence of ancient Greek porticos, providing shade and connecting the interior spaces with the surrounding landscape. Additionally, the gardens and open courtyards recall the concept of Roman domus, where architecture merges with nature to create an atmosphere of serenity and freshness.

Modernism: Innovation and Creativity

Throughout our evolution, at BC Estudio Group, we have integrated various architectural styles, with Modernism standing out as a significant phase in our journey. This movement, characterized by innovation and creativity, allowed us to explore more organic and artistic forms in our various designs.

A notable example is the intervention at La Pedrera (Casa Milà), one of the most iconic works of Antoni Gaudí. Architect Francesc Barba Corsini, a prominent figure in the history of BC Estudio Group, carried out a renovation of the building's attic in 1954, originally intended for laundry rooms and storage spaces. Corsini transformed this area into 13 modern apartments, numbered from 1 to 14, omitting number 13. This intervention reflected a reinterpretation of Modernism, adapting historical spaces to contemporary needs while preserving the artistic essence of the building.

Modern Architecture: Functionality and Simplicity

The transition to modern architecture led us to focus on functionality and the simplicity of forms. This style is characterized by clean lines and a minimalist aesthetic that prioritizes the utility of spaces without sacrificing beauty. The Casa Pedralbes residence in Barcelona is a clear example of our commitment to modernity and efficiency.
This residential project stands out for its modern and sustainable design. The house features spacious, light-filled interiors that make the most of solar orientation to optimize energy efficiency. Additionally, local materials and construction techniques that respect the surrounding environment were used, demonstrating a clear orientation towards bioclimatic architecture. This approach combines both innovation and sustainability, creating a home that is not only functional and beautiful but also responsible towards its environment.
Bioclimatic Architecture: Sustainability and Energy Efficiency
Currently, we stand out in bioclimatic architecture, integrating sustainable and energy-efficient solutions into our projects. This approach aims to minimize environmental impact and promote the well-being of users through the responsible use of resources and harmonious integration with the natural environment.
At BC Estudio Group, we combine the best of each architectural style to adapt to the needs of our clients and the surrounding environment, creating spaces that are functional, aesthetically appealing, and environmentally responsible. By focusing on bioclimatic principles, we design buildings that not only respond to the specific climate and location but also prioritize energy efficiency and sustainability, ensuring a positive impact both on the occupants and the planet.
